There are so many organizations out there for women and for minority groups. I think these organizations are wonderful. It gives people a place to belong, a support group and also motivation to thrive.
Since the industrial revolution the world has been ruled by white males. (Since the beginning of time if you are looking at only males) And because of this, historically white males didn’t need organizations such as these. It was a man’s world so why bother giving them more of a leg up than they already had?
The other day Katie the HR girl at the company I work for, shared this email that she received…
Hi, you are a competitor with my company. On May 20th, someone from your office clicked on my Google ads wasting my money. We both know those are for prospective clients, not competitors. My main competitors show me the professional courtesy of not clicking on my ads, so I would appreciate it if you would do the same.
Oh, and the guy also copy/pasted some information that from what I could tell, indicated that someone from our office clicked on a link… once… (can’t tell exactly because he didn’t include the column headers)
So, highly amused at this I decided to do a little digging on this “Competitor”
http://www.keywordspy.com/overview/domain.aspx?q=xerillion.com
According to that, they spend daily between $0 and $2 for ad clicks… So I can see how this can be frustrating when 1 click from a competitor doubles what you pay for ad clicks!
Oh and also, that “Competitor” really isn’t a competitor. Our range of services only overlap slightly… or rather they offer only a fraction of the services that we do.
And in fact we don’t even know if it was someone within our company! It could have been one of our customers on one of our machines or something!
And further more, that email was sent to us by the actual president of the company. I cannot believe that the guy was being so petty and rude over one ad click…
May 17th I finished my first half marathon!
Not only did I finish the half marathon, I ran the entire thing without stopping nor slowing down to a walk once.
And not only that, I finished with an absolutely amazing time of 2 hours 13 min and 40 sec!
That is a 10 min and 13 sec average time for the entire 13.1 miles.
My absolute goal was to average a 10 min mile but I never dreamed that I would be able to get so close.
I am also signed up for a half marathon in August called the Rock n Roll Chicago Half Marathon that I am really excited about!
I am now even thinking about signing up for the full Chicago Marathon…
You can see my results at http://results.active.com/pages/displayNonGru.jsp?rsID=78361.
Well!
After months… ok a year+ of being lazy about reading up on Drupal and stuff Binary Candies is finally up!
In my own defense I just dove straight into things and tried to create my own themes and modules without any prior knowledge of Drupal.
Regardless lots of excitement to come hopefully.
I’ll be soon posting stories of events in my life, items that I find interesting and other things that no one wants to read about!
